Our story

Who we are

Speak Out for Children Development Initiative is a youth-led non-profit organisation dedicated to the prevention of child sexual abuse across the African continent. Established in 2019 in Nigeria and Cameroon in collaboration with Needful Children, we have expanded our reach and appointed ambassadors in five additional African countries: Burkina Faso, Ghana, Liberia, Sierra Leone, and The Gambia.

We strive to create and support policies that protect vulnerable children while promoting comprehensive body safety education and awareness. We aim to ensure that these essential conversations become a regular part of discourse in schools, homes, and various organisations throughout Africa.

Our mission is prevention: to prevent child sexual abuse from occurring, one child at a time, through education, awareness, policy and help.

To see every child have a healthy childhood, free of sexual abuse and trauma, in Africa.
