Every year, we encourage adults to take the Speak Out Pledge. This pledge represents a public commitment by adults to protect children, educate themselves, create a safe environment, and be vigilant bystanders in cases of child grooming.
The Speak Out Pledge is more than just a promise; it is a call to action for adults to take responsibility within their communities.
We have run the Speak Out Pledge for three years now, and over 1,000 adults have made this commitment.
As part of this pledge, adults are encouraged to play an active role in these ways:
• Safeguard Children: Actively protect children from harm and ensure their safety in all environments.
• Be Vigilant: Stay alert to signs of child grooming and intervene appropriately to prevent any form of abuse.
• Awareness: Educate themselves and others about the signs and dangers of child grooming.
• Advocacy: Advocate for policies and practices that protect children and support victims of grooming.
• Intervention: Step in and offer support when witnessing potential grooming situations.
• Reporting: Report any suspicious behavior to appropriate authorities to ensure the safety of children.
• Continuous Learning: Stay informed about the latest strategies and resources for protecting children.
• Community Engagement: Participate in community events and training sessions to strengthen their ability to safeguard children.
• Promote Safety: Foster environments where children feel safe and protected.
• Support Well-being: Ensure the emotional and physical well-being of children in their care.
